Two Piano Journey

Michelle and Christopher are a mother & son two piano team on a mission to make the world a better place. They are currently on a benefit concert tour, using their talents to raise money for nonprofits in the hunger relief, education, and social service sectors. Christopher was inspired to launch their project in 2016 to give his mother a chance to live her performance dreams after she sacrificed her career to raise her children. They have performed together in many major performance spaces, including Weill and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center, and the Eisemann Center in Dallas. In collaboration with many inspiring philanthropic organizations, they have been able to help raise more than $3,100,000 for social causes. Their partners include national organizations including Feeding America, Minds Matter, RLC, and the Chinese-American Planning Council. Their project has been featured on PIX 11 NY, NBC Bay Area, Asian American Life, and other news channels across the country. Documentary short films have been produced by San Francisco based Feast Studios and Los Angeles based Elu Studios.

Michelle Chen Kuo (Chen Chou-Hsia) is a critically acclaimed concert pianist, teacher, and philanthropist. Michelle’s formative years as a pianist began in her native Taiwan, where she graduated with the highest achievement from Kuang-Jen Music School and went on to have her solo debut in Taipei at the age of 16 after winning the Taiwan National Piano Competition three years consecutively. As the first-prize winner of the National Piano Competition in Hong Kong and recipient of the Tom Lee Scholarship, she represented Hong Kong at the London Arts Festival. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester and her Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard School with high distinction.

Christopher received his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Statistics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business of New York University with high distinction as the recipient of the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic Award, Sally Blount Social Impact Award, and the Presidential Service Award. He is currently a Managing Director at Citigroup, where he runs the LATAM Structured Credit team. He is the recipient of the Credit Suisse Americas Foundation 2020 Giving Back Award. Christopher has studied with his mother, his only teacher, since he was five years old.
