My mother fell to the SHADOWS.

A child violin prodigy, she studied with the MASTERS and was touring the world at age 11.

A quick rise to FAME, she became an international sensation, and won silver medalist in world’s best violinist competition at 17.

While performing in Denver, she fell in LOVE with the dark haired, handsome cellist in the orchestra.

Her mother warned her,

and left.

A few months later they were MARRIED and the amazing violin (that was loaned to her) was TAKEN back.

“A married woman can never have a career.”

She tried to find another concert worthy violin, but any money she made was sent to support her 6 family members who relied on her.

A VICTIM.

My dad became a successful conductor and years later she finally had the violin of her DREAMS made.

But nobody hired her.

She figured she was too OLD.

That the industry had moved on to younger, slimmer, more shiny things.

I wished people could see her the way I did….

And that’s when I said “F*CK THIS."

I REJECT this narrative.

I decided to take matters into my OWN hands.

To tell her stories. Her success. Share her OTHERWORLDLY talent. Not a victim, but a truly remarkable VIOLINIST.

She didn’t have the internet back then, but I do
now.

At first she was AFRAID to put herself out there. To be vulnerable to criticism. To be SEEN as she is now.

But as the numbers started to rise,

and old and new fans emerged,

something changed in her.

She stopped nitpicking photos of herself.

She started playing again.

People say you should learn to love yourself first, but maybe there’s another way if that doesn’t work….

Maybe it can start with a daughter

who never saw a failure—

only a legend in hiding.
